About three weeks ago I held a class with a group from an Assisted Living on Neuro Graphic Art. I see this group each week and we explore varying mediums through a variety of projects. The previous sessions have included acrylic painting, clay, decoupage, cut paper, rubber stamping, watercolors, fiber and more. Designed to be inclusive irregardless of abilities they have been enjoyed greatly by participants. However, the Neurographic project was unique in that many of the people were still talking about it weeks later, and requesting that we do it again.
The approach is designed to relax participants and be more meditative. The process is far more important than the final product.
Participants said "They felt as if they'd entered a zone". It seemed to not only relax participants but really left a mark on people's memory. This was particularly impressive in that older people sometimes struggle with short term memory.
Above the image may appear to be an abstract scribble but the process proves otherwise and yields fascinating results. If you'd like to experience a Neurographic session feel free to reach out!
We are back for 2023 bigger and better than before! You may notice, we have changed our name from Cards and Conversations to Artlandia Studios. The reason for the change is because we have expanded beyond card making and wanted our name to reflect such. Still utilizing a variety of materials, we now offer paint days, sketching, creating lettering, Zentangle, and custom birthday projects in addition to card making. Artlandia Studios still brings the projects to you. We just offer more of them! Book for a workshop, class or party today!
A hand made card touches the heart of the recipient and tells that person they are cherished. With the holidays fast approaching, consider taking an hour or two to create homemade cards for your friends and family.
But what happens if you are unable to or simply do not have the time - but love the idea. Artlandia Studios can help. We offer homemade cards for any occasion. Order 1, 6 or by the dozen. They arrive to you with their own envelopes or we can mail them for you if addresses are provided! Contact us to order yours!
During these strange and difficult times it is important to stay connected to others. For individuals who live alone or for residents of a facility that has restricted visits such as a Nursing Home, receiving a handmade card is uplifting and appreciated more than ever! Making a handmade card is a wonderful activity to do with children and your family. Stay in touch and reach out. Looking for ideas? Contact me for free card ideas! Cardsandconversations@gmail.com

This July and August we had a lot of fun making cards that reflect the carefree days of summer! From a watermelon shape card (with admittedly silly puns) to torn paper beach collages, participants enjoyed both the process and their results. Wondering what's in store for the fall? Contact Cards and Conversations to find out!
